According to the World Health Organization, in 2016 there were over 180 million alcoholics in the world, and the prevalence rate was 2%. And at the same time, the “alcohol” situation in developed countries is different. M. A. Schuckit characterizes the situation in the United States by 2015 as follows: 90% of Americans drink alcohol during their lives, 60-70% drink alcohol systematically, more than 40% have alcohol-related problems, 20% of men and 10% of women abuse alcohol, have alcohol dependence, that is, 10% of men and 3.5% of women suffer from alcoholism.
