Bugungi kunda Internet inson ijtimoiy hayotining ajralmas qismiga aylangan bo‘lib, uni alohida mustaqil inson huquqi sifatida tan olish masalasi zamonaviy huquq fanida keng muhokama qilinmoqda. 2010-yilda BBC teleradiokompaniyasi 26 mamlakatda o‘tkazgan so‘rovnomada 27 mingdan ortiq respondentning 79 foizi Internetdan foydalanishni o‘zining asosiy huquqi sifatida baholagan. Bu esa jamoatchilik ongida ushbu masalaning naqadar dolzarb ekanligini ko‘rsatadi.
