Abstract

The article examines digital pedagogy as a practical tool for developing school students’ intercultural (cultural) competence. Drawing on established models of intercultural competence and contemporary technological-pedagogical frameworks, the study applies a design-based research approach through an eight-week intervention (digital storytelling, virtual exchanges, online discussions, and reflective e-portfolios). Mixed-methods assessment (rubrics, discourse analysis, digital trace analytics, teacher observations) indicates consistent gains in students’ intercultural awareness, empathy, and constructive moderation of interactions, alongside challenges related to connectivity, language barriers, and teachers’ TPACK gaps. The discussion emphasizes aligning content, pedagogy, and technology with ethics and inclusivity. Conclusions offer actionable recommendations: school-level methodological support, integration of digital and intercultural literacies, and practice-oriented professional development for teachers.
