Phraseological units represent an essential part of a language's lexical and semantic system, reflecting cultural values, cognitive patterns, and communicative traditions. Among them, phraseological units containing antonymic components occupy a special place due to their expressive nature and semantic complexity. These units are formed through the interaction of lexical opposites, which contribute to the creation of figurative meanings and enhance the stylistic effect of speech. The present study aims to classify phraseological units with antonymic components and examine their structural and semantic characteristics in modern English. The research employs descriptive, semantic, and componential analysis methods to investigate the functions and classification principles of such phraseological units.
