Abstract

Digital transformation is becoming one of the main drivers of change in Islamic banking. The growing use of mobile banking, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, digital identity, open application programming interfaces (APIs) and regulatory technology (RegTech) allows Islamic banks to deliver services faster and at lower cost while reaching customers beyond traditional branch networks. For Islamic financial institutions, however, innovation must be implemented together with effective Shariah governance, customer protection and financial stability.
