ETIOLOGY AND PREVENTIVE STRATEGIES FOR NERVOUS SYSTEM DISORDERS IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBAL TRENDS AND RISK FACTORS

This scientific article analyzes the etiology and prevention strategies of nervous system disorders (NSDs). According to contemporary medical and epidemiological data, one in three people globally suffers from neurological disorders, totaling approximately 3 billion individuals. The study examines the prevalence of major conditions such as stroke, dementia, migraine, and epilepsy based on the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021 data. Results indicate that NSDs have become the leading cause of death and disability worldwide. The article provides a statistical analysis of the correlation between genetic predisposition, environmental factors, and lifestyle choices. Specifically, it is demonstrated that 80% of stroke cases and 40% of dementia cases can be prevented by addressing modifiable risk factors. Recommendations include healthy diet, physical activity, and early diagnostic methods. This research holds strategic importance for healthcare policymakers and neurologists, supporting global action plans for disease prevention and brain health promotion.
