Abstract

This study describes a simple and highly reproducible method for the synthesis of zeolite L. The proposed synthesis procedure enables precise control of crystal size over a wide range, from 30 nm to 6000 nm. Consequently, the crystal dimensions and morphology can be systematically tailored. Zeolite L crystals, which typically exhibit a cylindrical morphology, were synthesized with various length-to-diameter aspect ratios, ranging from elongated rods to disc-shaped crystals. The significance of precise crystal size control is discussed in relation to the potential applications of composite materials based on organic dye molecules encapsulated within the channels of zeolite L.
