Abstract

Horticulture has become one of the leading sectors of agriculture in Uzbekistan, contributing significantly to food security, rural employment, export earnings, and sustainable economic development. During the last decade, agricultural reforms have encouraged the expansion of intensive orchards, modernization of production technologies, and diversification of agricultural exports. Nevertheless, insect pests remain among the most serious constraints limiting orchard productivity and profitability. Pest infestations reduce fruit yield and quality, increase production costs, threaten environmental sustainability, and restrict access to international markets due to phytosanitary and food safety requirements. Therefore, effective pest management has become both an agricultural and economic priority.
