Abstract

X-rays are one of the most important discoveries in the history of medicine. Since their introduction into clinical practice, they have greatly improved the diagnosis, treatment planning and monitoring of many diseases. X-ray imaging allows doctors to see internal structures of the human body without surgical intervention. Today, radiography, fluoroscopy, computed tomography, mammography and dental X-ray imaging are widely used in different branches of medicine. At the same time, X-rays are a form of ionizing radiation, therefore their use must be justified and optimized to protect patients and medical workers. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the importance of X-rays in modern medicine, their main applications, advantages and safety requirements.
