Abstract

This article analyzes factual errors in journalistic texts using a corpus linguistics approach. Within the framework of the study, a corpus of media texts published in mass media is compiled and systematically examined to identify and classify different types of factual inaccuracies. In particular, numerical errors, contextual distortions, and misinterpretations are explored as key categories of factographic errors. The study investigates the linguistic and journalistic factors contributing to the emergence of these errors. By applying corpus linguistic methods, the frequency, distribution, and functional characteristics of errors within the texts are identified and analyzed. The findings of the research contribute to improving the accuracy and credibility of journalistic content and provide scientific insights for enhancing fact-checking practices in media production.
