This article analyzes Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur’s “Baburnama” from the perspective of socio-philosophical and historical interpretation of the society of Movarounnahr. The study examines data on ethnic composition, tribal groups, linguistic environment, migration processes, military-administrative structure, economic activity, and ecological factors. Special attention is given to the source’s role in reflecting historical consciousness, the relationship between power and society, state formation, and civilizational comparison. The article argues that the “Baburnama” serves not only as an empirical but also as a conceptual source for reconstructing the society of Central Asia and Northern India in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
