Abstract

It is a fact that before the end of the first century of Islam, Muslims were divided into several sects and groups. Although this division was sometimes based on political aspects, the main reason for it was religious issues. Among the issues related to faith, the one that causes the most disputes and disagreements is about the nature and attributes of Allah. That is why the science of beliefs, which is called aqaid and kalam, is also called "ilmu al-tawhid was-sifat" ("The Science of Tawhid and Attributes").
