This article explores the foreign experience in the formation of courtyard spaces, focusing on their architectural, cultural, and environmental aspects. Courtyard design has been widely used in different countries as an effective solution for climate adaptation, spatial organization, and social interaction. The study analyzes various international examples, highlighting how courtyard spaces contribute to thermal comfort, privacy, and sustainable living environments. Special attention is given to the comparison of traditional and modern approaches in courtyard design, as well as the adaptation of these principles in contemporary urban development. The research aims to identify key strategies and best practices that can be applied in improving courtyard-based residential design.
