Abstract

This article investigates the means of expressing emotional lexicon in English and Uzbek. Emotional lexicon refers to words, phrases, and constructions that convey human feelings, moods, and psychological states. The study examines the lexical, morphological, syntactic, and pragmatic strategies employed by the two languages to express emotions. English primarily relies on lexical items, idiomatic expressions, and pragmatic modulation, whereas Uzbek employs derivational morphology, syntactic constructions, interjections, and onomatopoeic expressions to produce rich and culturally resonant emotional statements. The article also highlights the role of cultural context in shaping emotional expression and discusses implications for translation, language learning, and cross-cultural communication. The findings reveal that while both languages effectively convey human affect, they do so through typologically distinct strategies, reflecting linguistic structure, culture, and cognitive patterns.
