The article dicusses how the spirit, period-specific culture, and linguistic style of a historical novel can be conveyed through characters’ speech during the translation process. It emphasizes the importance of selecting words and expressions that correspond to the work’s style theme, and the nature of events, while preserving the national and historical context.
