Abstract

Language learning extends beyond mere linguistic competence, as it also involves understanding the cultural context in which the language is used. This article explores the significance of cultural understanding in language learning, drawing from existing literature and analyzing the results of a survey conducted among language learners and educators. The findings highlight the benefits of incorporating cultural elements into language education and provide insights into effective strategies for fostering cultural understanding. The article concludes by emphasizing the need for language learning programs to prioritize cultural understanding alongside linguistic skills.
