Статья посвящена обеспечению преемственности в формировании межкультурной коммуникативной компетенции будущего педагога. Показано, что данная компетенция сегодня формируется эпизодически и теряется при переходе с одного уровня подготовки на другой. Предложена трёхуровневая региональная модель преемственности, охватывающая школу, вуз и систему дополнительного профессионального образования. Модель опирается на пять педагогических условий, систему из восьми методов и комплексный диагностический аппарат из четырёх критериев.
