Abstract

This article analyzes the metaphorical and metonymic models of the concept of "horse" in the Uzbek language based on a linguocultural and cognitive approach. The image of "horse" has various semantic aspects in the popular mind, it is formed as a symbol of courage, wealth, friendship, loyalty and social status. Based on the analysis of proverbs, sayings and expressions in our language, the main conceptual metaphors are identified, such as "horse is the wing of a young man", "horse is wealth", "horse is a loyal friend", "horse is a social position". The study highlights the role of the concept of "horse" in the popular worldview, value system and national thinking.
