In the article, it was determined on the basis of theoretical research that, in order to meet the initial agro-technical requirements, the soil penetration depth of the universal ridge-forming device used for inter-row cultivation in orchards and the height of the ridges formed by it must be ensured. The studies revealed that the soil penetration depth of the ridge-former should be 16.1 cm, and the entry angle of the ridge-former’s tine into the soil should be within the range of 18.3°–19.5°
