Abstract

The Jadid Movement was one of the most significant socio-cultural and educational reform movements in Central Asia during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Emerging under the influence of modernization and intellectual awakening, the Jadids sought to reform traditional educational systems, promote scientific knowledge, develop national consciousness, and modernize society. Through the establishment of new-method schools, the publication of newspapers and journals, and the promotion of cultural and social reforms, the Jadids played a crucial role in shaping the intellectual and political development of the region. This article examines the origins, objectives, major representatives, and achievements of the Jadid Movement, highlighting its contribution to the educational, cultural, and political progress of Central Asia. The study argues that the Jadid Movement laid the foundation for modern national identity, educational reform, and socio-political modernization in the region.
