MAJOR PROBLEMS IN ACQUIRING ENGLISH MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY AMONG MEDICAL STUDENTS

This article analyzes the major challenges medical students face in acquiring English medical terminology. Medical terminology is an essential component of medical education and professional communication; however, many students struggle to understand, memorize, and pronounce medical terms. The study focuses on factors such as the complexity of terminology, limited English proficiency, pronunciation difficulties, traditional teaching methods, and low motivation. The article also examines the role of multimedia tools and interactive learning approaches in improving students’ acquisition of medical vocabulary. The analysis demonstrates that student-centered and technology-assisted teaching methods can significantly enhance students’ engagement, retention, and comprehension of medical terminology. The study concludes that modern educational strategies are necessary to overcome the challenges faced by EFL medical students in learning English medical terms.
