Computer networks have evolved significantly with the rapid advancement of digital technologies, forming the backbone of global communication systems. This paper provides a critical analysis of the fundamental components of computer networks, including hardware, software, transmission media, and protocols. Unlike traditional descriptive approaches, this study evaluates the functional interdependence of these components and their role in addressing modern challenges such as scalability, security, and performance optimization. The paper also examines emerging trends, including cloud networking, Internet of Things (IoT), and 5G technologies. The findings highlight that efficient integration of network components is essential for building resilient and adaptive network infrastructures.
