Abstract

This thesis analyzes the role of nanotechnology-based drug delivery systems in modern pharmaceutical sciences. Nanoparticles can improve the solubility, stability, bioavailability, and targeted delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients to specific tissues. The key characteristics of lipid-based nanocarriers, polymeric nanoparticles, dendrimers, nanoemulsions, and other nanosystems are reviewed. Particular attention is given to passive and active targeting mechanisms, controlled drug release, strategies for overcoming biological barriers, and the potential applications of nanoparticle-based systems in cancer therapy. In addition, challenges associated with the clinical translation of nanomedicines, including safety, toxicity, standardization, scalability, and regulatory requirements, are discussed.
