This article examines the role of argumentation skills in developing speech literacy among future teachers. It argues that speech literacy should not be limited to grammatical correctness or fluent expression. It is a complex professional competence that includes clarity, logical coherence, evidence-based reasoning, ethical communication, and the ability to adapt speech to pedagogical situations. Argumentation skills help future teachers formulate claims, justify ideas, use evidence, respond to alternative viewpoints, and organize meaningful classroom dialogue.
