This article examines the impact of the artificial intelligence technology ChatGPT on the development of students’ written communication skills. It analyzes the main areas of AI application in the educational process, as well as its advantages and potential risks. Particular attention is paid to the role of ChatGPT as a digital assistant in developing academic writing skills, expanding vocabulary, improving grammatical accuracy, and fostering critical thinking. The study concludes that the effectiveness of artificial intelligence depends not on the technology itself but on students’ digital literacy and the pedagogical support provided throughout the learning process.
