Brucellosis is an important infectious disease that affects both animals and humans. It belongs to the group of zoonotic diseases, because the infection is transmitted from animals to people. Because the symptoms are often nonspecific, laboratory diagnosis is very important. Prevention of brucellosis requires cooperation between medical workers, veterinary specialists and the population. Health education, pasteurization of milk, vaccination of animals, use of protective equipment and regular veterinary supervision are the main measures for reducing the spread of the disease.
