CYTOKINE IMBALANCE AS A DETERMINANT OF POST-INTERVENTIONAL MYOCARDIAL REMODELING IN PEDIATRIC VENTRICULAR SEPTAL DEFECT CLOSUR

This study evaluates the role of immunological factors in myocardial remodeling after transcatheter ventricular septal defect (VSD) closure in children. A total of 200 pediatric patients were examined using clinical, echocardiographic, MRI, and immunological assessments. Analysis focused on cytokine levels, immune cell activity, and systemic inflammatory markers. Children with unfavorable remodeling exhibited elevated IL-6, TNF-α, and C-reactive protein, combined with reduced IL-10. Cardiac imaging confirmed ventricular dilation and decreased ejection fraction. A combined clinical-immunological model was constructed, providing reliable prediction of adverse outcomes. The findings underline the prognostic importance of immune imbalance and support personalized follow-up in pediatric cardiology.
