Abstract

According to modern research, the prevalence of dental pathology among pregnant women reaches 90%, while inflammatory periodontal diseases are detected in 30-40% of women. It has been established that chronic foci of odontogenic infection can serve as a reservoir of pathogenic microorganisms and a source of endogenous intoxication, creating prerequisites for the development of systemic inflammatory reactions. Of particular importance is the study of the immunological mechanisms mediating the influence of dental pathology on the development of postpartum complications.
