Abstract

Literary works depicting the lives and inner worlds of children hold a significant place in Uzbek literature. Among them is the novella "Shum bola" (The Mischievous Boy) by the prominent writer Gafur Gulom, which occupies a special position in both national and world literature. This article examines the social and spiritual challenges of the early twentieth century as portrayed in the novella, focusing on themes of childhood mischief, life struggles, and the issue of social inequality within society.
