Abstract

Autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT) is currently one of the most common autoimmune disorders affecting the endocrine system. In this condition, the immune system loses physiological tolerance to thyroid tissue, leading to autoimmune aggression, destruction of the thyroid parenchyma, and impaired synthesis of thyroid hormones. However, AIT is not limited to the thyroid gland alone; it is associated with systemic immune imbalance. Therefore, comprehensive investigation of its pathogenesis requires not only thyroid-level analysis but also detailed examination of peripheral immune organs such as the spleen and lymph nodes.
