The purpose of this article is to examine the significance of cultural awareness in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Many EFL learners mainly concentrate on grammatical accuracy and vocabulary acquisition; they are also required to understand the cultural norms, values, and communication styles to master the target language. This research highlights the challenges faced by both EFL teachers and learners when cultural awareness is overlooked, including cultural misunderstandings, pragmatic failure, and reduced learner confidence. It further discusses the practical implications for integrating cultural knowledge into language instruction through the use of authentic materials, role-plays, and intercultural comparisons.
