This thesis examines the project-based activities implemented in the professional practice of an educational institution director under conditions of education modernization. The growing complexity of school management requires directors to move beyond traditional administrative functions and adopt project management approaches aimed at achieving measurable educational outcomes. The study highlights the director’s role as a project manager responsible for identifying institutional challenges, initiating development projects, engaging stakeholders, and monitoring effectiveness. Based on recognized theoretical and practical sources in educational management and project management, the thesis analyzes key types of projects implemented in schools and outlines the core competencies required of a director acting as a project manager. The findings demonstrate that project-based management contributes to sustainable school development, increased accountability, and improved educational quality.
