This article explores the phenomenon of polysemy in English and Uzbek vocabulary, emphasizing its role in language development, semantic richness, and communication. Polysemy, understood as the coexistence of multiple meanings within a single word, is widespread in both languages, yet the degree of semantic extension differs due to linguistic, cultural, and historical factors. Through comparative analysis, this paper demonstrates similarities and differences in how polysemy functions in English and Uzbek, offering insights into translation, lexicography, and language teaching.
