Zamonaviy lingvistikada neyrolingvistik tadqiqotlar til o‘zlashtirish, ikki tillilik va afaziya kabi til buzilishlarini tushunishga yordam beradi, shu orqali lingvistika, psixologiya va kognitiv fanlar rivojiga katta hissa qo‘shadi.
