The “shadowing” technique is a modern pedagogical approach that enhances learners’ listening comprehension, pronunciation, and speaking fluency through immediate repetition of spoken language. Originating in interpreter training, the method has gained wide recognition in foreign language teaching for its effectiveness in improving oral proficiency. This article discusses the theoretical foundations, stages, implementation, and pedagogical advantages of the “shadowing” method in developing students’ English speaking skills.
