WAYS TO IMPROVE MEANING SEMANTIZATION IN LEARNER’S DICTIONARIES
Аннотация
This paper examines the problem of meaning semantization in learner’s dictionaries and explores effective ways to improve the presentation of lexical meanings for language learners. The study emphasizes that modern learner’s dictionaries should go beyond simple translation equivalents and provide comprehensive semantic, contextual, and cultural information. Particular attention is paid to contextual, associative, and visual methods of semantization, as well as to the role of cultural and pragmatic factors in bilingual learner’s dictionaries. The paper argues that improved semantization techniques significantly enhance learners’ lexical competence and contribute to more effective foreign language acqisition.
