FOREIGN INVESTMENT IN UZBEKISTAN: SCALE, STRUCTURE AND STRATEGIC PROSPECTS

This paper analyzes trends in attracting foreign investment into the economy of Uzbekistan in 2020–2025. It examines the volume and sectoral structure of investment, key investor countries, the growth dynamics of foreign-owned enterprises, and key legislative initiatives to improve the investment climate. Key drivers and risks are identified using data from the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade, the Statistics Agency, the Central Bank, publications in reputable business media (Kun.uz, Yuz.uz, Gazeta.uz), and reports from international organizations. Particular attention is paid to the record figures for 2025, the long-term goals of the "Uzbekistan 2030" Strategy, and government measures to stimulate FDI. It concludes that the investment climate is steadily improving, foreign business confidence is growing, and the country is continuing to integrate into global capital markets.
