Abstract

This article highlights the role and pedagogical significance of music theory in the process of forming musical literacy. Music theory knowledge is analyzed as an important factor in developing students' skills in musical thinking, hearing, understanding rhythm and intonation, reading sheet music, and analyzing musical works. Additionally, the interconnection of theoretical knowledge and practical activity in music education and their effectiveness in forming musical literacy are substantiated from a scientific and pedagogical perspective.
