EFFECTIVENESS OF INTENSIVE AND EXTENSIVE ENGLISH INSTRUCTIONS

Аннотация

This article compares the effectiveness of intensive and extensive English instruction in terms of language development, learner motivation, cognitive load, and long-term retention. Intensive instruction focuses on short-term, high-frequency exposure to English, while extensive instruction emphasizes longer-term, moderate-paced learning. By analyzing pedagogical theories and classroom practices, this paper argues that although intensive instruction can lead to fast short-term progress, extensive instruction is often more effective for sustainable language acquisition and balanced skill development.
