This article highlights the importance of the art of improvisation in piano music. Improvisation is analyzed as an important process that expands the pianist's creative thinking, musical expression capabilities, and forms his personal performance style. The article studies the historical roots of improvisation, its place in the world piano performance traditions, and its importance in the modern pedagogical process. Methodological approaches to developing improvisational skills in young pianists, as well as the psychological aspects of improvisation in stage performance, are also considered.
