Abstract

This article summarizes the results of a study aimed at identifying coumarin compounds in Cichorium intybus L. (common chicory) growing in the Rishtan District of the Fergana Region, as well as investigating their chemical composition and biological significance. Cichorium intybus L. has long been recognized for its medicinal properties and contains various biologically active compounds, including sesquiterpene lactones, phenolic compounds, flavonoids, polysaccharides (inulin), and coumarins. The study evaluated the applicability of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) for the qualitative and quantitative determination of coumarins in extracts obtained from the roots and aerial parts of the plant.
