Abstract

The essence of lexical competence development in English language teaching is a critical aspect of language learning and proficiency. Lexical competence refers to the ability to use and understand words and phrases in a given language, and it plays a crucial role in effective communication and language proficiency. In the context of English language teaching, the development of lexical competence is essential for learners to become proficient speakers and writers of the language. This article will explore the significance of lexical competence development in English language teaching, and discuss various strategies and approaches that can be employed to enhance lexical competence in learners.
